3 The structure of a Castor study

Before you start building your study in Castor make sure you know the difference between study forms, reports and surveys.

  • Study forms are the actual “Case Report Form”. When a record is created all these forms will be automatically created.
  • Reports are repeating forms and can be used for repeating data such as Adverse Event Reports, medication, and measurements such as blood pressure etcetera. They have a “one-to-many” (1:N) relation with the record. They can also be used for unscheduled events. You can add reports as needed.
  • Surveys are questionnaires that you send to participants using their email addresses
